Here at SBDC we strive to provide the best dance education for you and your child.  We are the area’s leading performing institute with a top-notch teaching faculty. Whether you choose to dance recreationally or plan to join our pre-professional company, SBDC is the place for you. We are thrilled to have you as part of our dance family.

Dress Code.

In order to ensure proper dance education, please adhere to the following dress code. No jeans, baggy clothing, jewelry, or street shoes will be permitted in class. Hair should be pulled back and off face.

Acro/Tumbling Tricks: Shorts, fitted top, bare feet.

Ballet: Leotard, tights, ballet shoes. (Hair in a bun.)

Hip Hop: Sweatpants, shorts, t-shirts/tanks, tennis shoes/hip hop sneakers.

Lyrical/Contemporary/Jazz: Shorts, jazz pants, tanks, t-shirts, and jazz shoes.

Tap: Shorts, pants, t-shirts, and tap shoes.

Boys:  Shorts, sweatpants, tanks/t-shirts, and shoes. (Tap-Tap Shoes, Hip Hop- Sneakers, Jazz/Lyrical-Jazz Shoes, Ballet-Black Ballet Shoes)

Attendance.

Regular attendance to class is strongly recommended, especially once recital choreography begins. In the event that you or your dancer misses class, a make-up class in a similar style of dance can be scheduled within 30 days of your missed class.

Lobby.

For the safety of our dancers, your dancer should remain in the lobby until a parent arrives. Please be prompt when picking up your dancer.

Tuition.

Tuition is based on a yearly fee, September-June, divided into 5 equal payments.Payments can be made bi-monthly or yearly by cash, check, Visa, or MasterCard.  A Tuition Drop-Box is located in the lobby for payments made after hours.  Returned checks will be charged a $25 Fee. All tuition is non-refundable.

* If account falls behind 2 months, your dancer’s enrollment is subject to cancellation

Registration Fees.

A yearly seasonal (September-June), non-refundable fee per student is charged at the time of registration.

Bi-Monthly Payment Plan.

Payments will be made 5 times a year on the 1st of each month; at the time of registration (September), November, January, March, and May. All payments made after the 10th of each month will be charged a $25 late fee.

Yearly Payment Plan.

Tuition paid in full for the year will receive a 5% discount. (Cash or Check Only)

Referral Program.

If you refer a friend, you will receive a $25 credit towards your account and your friend’s registration fee will be waived. The dancer who referred you must be specified on your form at the time of registration.

Withdrawal Policy.

Should you choose to withdraw, we request a written letter of intent to withdraw 30 days in advance. Your account will be charged and you will be held responsible for payments until we receive written notice. Tuition is non-refundable.

Parent Observation Week.

We have a closed-door policy to ensure that your dancer receives proper dance education without distraction. Parents may observe their dancer’s class(es) twice during the year. Please refer to your studio calendar for specific dates.

Bring-A-Friend Week.

Students are allowed to bring a friend to their dance class(es). Please refer to your studio calendar for specific dates.

Class Rules.

  • No food or drink other than water will be permitted in the classroom.
  • Please make sure to clean up after yourself; trashcans are located outside of the student lounge and front lobby.
  • No chewing gum in classroom.
  • Please do not wear street shoes in the classroom as it trails dirt and ruins our specialized dance floors.
  • Dance shoes should not be worn outside.
  • A lost and found is located in the student lounge. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
  • After fair warning, teachers have the right to dismiss a student from class if they are being disruptive.
  • Should you have any questions or concerns about your child’s classes, please schedule an appointment with the teacher by emailing hr@bleu.com or leaving a message at the front desk.

Inclement Weather + Studio Closings.

SBDC does NOT follow Loudon County Public School Inclement Weather Closings. Please check the studio voicemail and NBC4 for any emergency studio closings. We will also update our voicemail message, Facebook Fan Page: Studio Bleu Dance Center and Twitter: @StudioBleuDC

Communication.

We strongly encourage all families to leave an email address with us on your registration form.  We are happy to answer questions at anytime.

Recital

Participation.

Our Annual Spring Recital is held every year in June. It features all of our classes and dance companies. Participation is optional, however strongly encouraged. It gives dancers the opportunity to perform a routine that they learn throughout the year and showcases their hard work and new dance skills.

Costumes.

Costume payments are non-refundable and will not be ordered until payment is received. All payments + participation forms are due by November 1st  to avoid a $25 late fee. Costumes will be delivered and handed out in class in May. Costume fees are as follows:

  • $80 (Combo Classes)
  • $90 (11 + Under Classes)
  • $100 (12 + Up Classes)

A list of hair styles, shoes, tights, and accessories will be posted throughout the studio and emailed.

Ticket Sales.

Ticket sales will begin on Sunday, April 26th. Tickets for reserved seating are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Handicap seating is available.  A ticket does not need to be purchased for the performer.

Picture Day + Dress Rehearsal.

Picture Day and Dress Rehearsal will be scheduled the Sunday prior to Recital. It is mandatory for all students participating in the show, as it gives them the proper preparation for a successful recital. More information will be provided at a closer date in addition to a schedule.  Picture forms will be available to be picked up at the studio the week before picture day.
